Fahrenheit 451: 60th Anniversary Book Jackets

Designed by Braxton McCullough;
University Project

The task behind this project was to create three different designs for a classic "banned" book. As a designer it is important to create different concepts to present to a client. All imagery used for the project was expected to be fair use or created specifically for this project. One of the final covers were expected to focus on a character from the book. One of them were expected to focus on the setting of a scene in the book and the third cover was to focus on a thing/object from the book.

The final selected book for this project was Fahrenheit 451. The story is mainly about Guy’s confliction with burning books to his rebellious and heroic transformation into reading books. The main character, Guy also lives in an extremely oppressive society that attempts to eliminate all sources of individuality, contradiction, and confusion to ensure non-conformed happiness for all its people.
